Great Morning; No Man's Land

 Great Day; No Man's Land:

It's hard to describe today in a few words.   We started with a nice touristy stroll through Durango, Colorado where we picked up a few souvenirs and Zoey caught up on local gossip with the owner's dog at the rug shop in town.

Then we got on the road towards Monument Valley, and what had been a refreshing breeze turned into an unsettling windstorm, blowing sand and smoke from fires in New Mexico, turning the horizon into a hazy smog.

The views in Monument Valley were disappointingly muted....

...but lifted a bit when we got to our somewhat protected RV site:

Dust storm still visible in the distance

Still, the winds this afternoon and evening were in the 20+mph range, with temps in the upper 90's.  All was covered with dust, so we unfortunately spent our time indoors.   This is why we don't live here!
