Miles To Go

Miles to Go

Not too much to report in these first couple of days; just trying to make our way west, about 350 miles each day (and $$$ in gas charges).

Last night, we stayed just outside of Le Roy, New York, a lovely town with a Main Street of stately Victorian homes.   We came across Le Roy eight years ago on another RV trip, and learned that the town's wealth was all because it is the original home of Jell-o!

On that visit, we took a few minutes to walk around the grounds of the Jell-o museum - lovely gardens and a walkway of bricks with the names of the museum's donors.  The largest brick at the time, right at the museum's door, bore the name of Jell-o's one-time spokesperson Bill Cosby.  This morning, we visited the same grounds and brick walkway, noting that Mr. Cosby's brick was no longer there.

Meanwhile, free-spirit Zoey who is used to spending her days unleashed on our hill in Vermont doesn't seem to know what to make of these long days cooped up in the RV, but she did catch a glimpse of Lake Erie and the vineyards on its shore at a rest stop near the NY-PA border.
